Starting September 2, 2025, the Personal Documents Office at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center will no longer close for lunch from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

New Hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
(Aligned with the rest of the Clerk’s offices)

It is with great pride that we announce the Employee of the Month for August is Adam Bartlett.

Adam’s compassion and care for his co-workers is a unique and admirable trait. They say that he is there whenever and whatever they need him for.

Adam is rarely seen without a smile or laughter on his face. The customers love him almost as much as his co-workers do. Almost.

He says his favorite part of the job is that there is something new to learn every day. He describes the office in one word as: CONNECTED.

Adam has been with the Clerk’s office for 4 years. He has worked in Personal Documents in Slidell, Land Records, Admin and back to Personal Docs. He is in training to move to Archives in the next couple of years.

Big changes coming this week for voters who are registered as INDEPENDENT!Important news for Louisiana voters: Beginning on August 1, any voter who is registered as Independent will automatically have their party affiliation changed to "No Party." Many voters registered as Independent, believing that they were choosing not to affiliate with any party; however, they were affiliated with the Independent Party.

Changing voters’ registrations from Independent to “No Party” will help eliminate voter confusion heading into the Closed Party Primaries and will ensure that those who wish to be unaffiliated with a political party can participate in the party primaries.

Beginning in 2026, Louisiana will be transitioning to the Closed Party Primary system, which was created by the Legislature in Act 1 of the 2024 First Extraordinary Session. In party primaries, Democrats can only vote in the Democratic primary, Republicans can only vote in the Republican primary, and No Party voters can choose which party primary they participate in, but these voters must stick with that party through the first round and the party primary runoff, if one occurs.

Our July Employee of the Month is GABRIEL HERRERA!

Gabe has been a fabulous addition to our staff! He joined us 9 months ago and has been an asset to multiple divisions ever since! Gabe started in Passports and quickly picked up all of the “ins and outs” of the Passport division. He was described by his peers as “always smiling, ready to help, and patient with the customers.” Gabe’s fluency in English and Spanish has been a huge blessing to non-English speaking customers needing passports.

Gabe has since moved on to IT, where he was originally intended to land. He has received further certifications and attended functions with Jessica. You can find him moving computers around as we make adjustments, as well as working on other projects in IT.

As his co-workers stated, “Gabe is a true asset to the Clerk’s Office. He always comes across in a professional manner with the customers. He has a positive and calm demeanor that is a perfect fit for any position he occupies."

We are so happy Gabe decided to join us here, and hope he sticks around for many years to come!

Nicole has been with the Clerk’s office for 2 ½ years, where she works as a Civil Minute Clerk. Nicole has been described by her peers as “extremely efficient with time management”. They said she goes out of her way to help her coworkers, is always smiling, and tries to boost the spirits of those around her.

Nicole said she loves working with her supportive team to work through the crazy, both inside and outside the workplace.
She uses the word GROWTH to describe the office, and says it’s not about being perfect, but about showing up.

Congratulations to GINA GULLO! She is our May Employee of the Month.

Gina works in the Jury Division and also helps the elections team. She was nominated by her co-workers, who described her as a hard-working team player. They said she is very detail-oriented and always has a “What can I do to help?” approach to any problem that may arise. She greets our election commissioners and makes them comfortable while taking their photos and making their ID badges.

Gina says: Being part of the St. Tammany Clerk of Court’s office has been an honor and a privilege. I have worked with the most professional, gifted, caring co-workers throughout my 11 years as a Deputy Clerk. A true “Dream Team” of co-workers and management.

After being sworn in as Clerk in July 2024, she recently received her certification. The Certified Clerk program is sponsored by the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association and is earned through a combination of academic credentials, participation in Clerks of Court Institutes and Conventions, professional activities, job-related training, and/or Notary or Paralegal certifications.

The clerks of court certification program is designed to provide practical learning experiences that establish a curriculum that will enable the clerks of court to learn the requirements of their elected office and to establish additional professional bonds of achievement.
